Our Christmas Fellowship Dinner will be combined with our greater family at Goodrich First Baptist Church. It will be on Tuesday, December 15 at 6:00 PM. Everyone is to bring a dish to go with ham and a "Pink Elephant" gift for or gift exchange game. Christmas is a time to get together with extended family. Come join us and share in the good food and fellowship. There will be no fellowship dinner on the usual Wednesday.

New Directions Gospel Concert

Charge Conference

Small Groups

Growth occurs in small groups where we can get to really know each other, pray for each other and encourage each other. There are several groups in our fellowship:

Children Sunday School Class (age 4 - 12) on Sundays at 9:00 AM
Bible Study Group on Mondays at 10:00AM

Walter Plant Concert

Walter Plant is back in town. Joy came with him. We are delighted to see both of them. Walter will be doing a concert here at First United Methodist Church in Goodrich on Saturday, October 24th at 6:00 PM. The concert will be followed by finger food and fellowship. Be sue to let your friends and neighbors know and fill your car so many may be blessed by Walter's inspirational and sometime humorous songs.

Polk County Mission Month

August Donations for Polk County Mission

This month (August) we are concentrating our donations to the Polk County Mission. There is a box and a basket in front of the altar for these donations. Money may be put in the basket (100% goes to the mission) and food in the box. Below is a list of the types of food needed for their pantry
Canned meat – tuna, spam, Vienna sausage, etc
Canned beans – ranch style, pork and beans, etc.
Dried beans (other than pinto) - navy, blackeye
peas, lima
Soups – Ramen Noodles, canned soups, etc
Sugar
Flour
Canned fruit
Fruit juices – Koolaid, real fruit juice
Dry cereal – children and adult types
Dry milk Baby food – various stages, cereal
Coffee
Tea
Taxable items that cannot be purchased with food
stamps: bath soap, shampoo, dish soap, laundry soap, diapers (all sizes), toothpaste, tooth brushes, toilet paper

GISD Appreciation Luncheon

We will be hosting a luncheon for the Goodrich Independent School district teachers, administrators and bus drivers on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009 from 11:30 - 1:00 PM. Members of the church (and any one else who would like to) are asked to bring desserts to the fellowship hall no lat3er than 11:00 on that day. Let us help the GISD employees off to a good start for the new school year.
